Big Easy Express Official Trailer
3 bands, 6 cities, 1 train, and thousands of miles of track…BIG EASY EXPRESS captures an incredible musical journey. Harkening back to the days of jubilant railroad revivals, of steam and steel, three bands set out in April 2011 to tour America by vintage train. L.A.’s Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Nashville boys Old Crow Medicine Show, and Londoners Mumford & Sons climbed aboard amid the massive rail yards of Oakland and set out for New Orleans on a “tour of dreams.” Stopping along the way to play sold-out shows in spots as diverse as San Pedro, California, and Marfa, Texas, BIG EASY EXPRESS documents the bands’ vibrant railway adventures; the high canyons, joyous crowds, blasted skies, late-night laughter, endless music…and a train that was bound for glory.

Vampire Weekend - Cousins (Soirée de Poche’s version)
A Tale of 3 Cities
Splitscreen: A Love Story is the beautiful creation of filmmaker J.W. Griffiths traveling between Paris, NYC and London. What is even more amazing is that the film was shot entirely on a Nokia N8 moblie phone (no surprise that it won the Nokia Shorts competition 2011).
Found it in PRÊT À VOYAGER.
Looking around The Five Senses posts tagged as photography, I came across this travel video made by Mike Matas. He went on holidays with ther girlfriend to Spain and Morocco and took around 4.000 pictures and then made a 2 minute video with all of them.
I think it’s a terrific idea! I usually take thousands of pics everytime I go on holiday…

Browsing through BOOOOOOM I found this post about a band called Spirit Family Reunion. I have never heard of them before but once I listened to the “I’ll find a way” above, it was enough! You have to love a song with a banjo…
Hope you like it as much as I did :)
Amazing performance by Beirut in a small (?) apartment overlooking central Paris. What more can you ask? I love how relaxed everyone is and the how well it is directed. Thank God for LaBlogoteque!

Wow. A friend just posted this and I had to share it with you guys. I’m speechless. Robin’s voice and melodies are out of this world. Hope I get the chance to see him play live. That would be a real pleasure.

Last night I saw Somewhere and they played this song while Stephen Dorff’s daughter was skating on ice. I loved the fact that Sofia Coppola chose this particular song. It could have been a corny Celine Dion song you know… By the way, I recommend the movie. It’s very Sofia Coppola and the soundtrack it’s flawless. I had a huge crush on Stephen Dorff while I was in school and apparently it’s still there ♥. He is the cutest dad ever!
